the March 2024 core update – was the largest core update, according to Google. It started March 5 and completed 45 days later on April 19.
The March core update ranking improvements, which tackled spam and low quality content on Search, are now finished rolling out. As a reminder, on March 5th we launched a number of meaningful enhancements to our core systems, as well as several updates to our spam policies, to reduce content created for search engines on Search.

在更新之初，谷歌说的是要减少40%的低质量内容，但是当更新结束后，这个指标实际达到了45%！如果各位的网站内容在近期突然丢失了大量的排名或者排名严重下滑，也许就是在这45%里。
谷歌表示，此次更新改进了其对哪些网页是“无用、用户体验差或感觉像是为搜索引擎而非为人类创建”的理解。
通俗的说，为了SEO而SEO，直接使用AI生成的内容（后期没有任何人工的润色和修改等），为了达到内容数量而单纯堆砌字数、以量取胜来以获取排名等做法，都属于上述范围。
